Double trouble, joy and cuddles

As the haze lifts from my head, I recover my once precious mobile from the depths of my last seasons Dior bag. Six months along and I prepare for a venture outdoors….which I add is just a walk with my gorgeous twin sons Rocco and Jay - but this time, for the first time ever I go alone, no hubby, no sister, no mother (mother in law), no faithful helpful hands that have constantly been by my side…….just me and my boys at last.
I stroll down the road in the lashings of rain in London city but hey who cares I’m out I did it!!!! A quick double check for myself - I’m dressed - yes, a good start. I do a quick check - yes double buggy correctly assembled, rain cover on, and my boys safely in and secure, they are dressed and wrapped in their cosy blankets…soothers clipped on…..spares in the bag….nappies just changed and so no frantic dashes up and down the high street looking for a clean changing area that fits my double buggy.

I will be home in an hour, well that's the plan. I stride along with pride, a contented new mom. Back to the checklist: colourful rattle toys attached snuggy bears at hand, my baby bag is full to the brim and I mean to the brim! My babies are fed and settled which gives me a great feeling. I have the next feed ready and packed, having it with me just in case I am not home when they are hungry, better to be organised than caught out.

I’m satisfied, I’m nicely prepared who knows where I’ll end up - I’m out at last after all!

Looking back, it all seems so easy now - Yes welcome to my new world of double trouble with joy and cuddles. For the first Six months, myself and hubby have been enjoying this wonderful new experience with our baby boys.  Fun filled days have been mixed with ultimate chaos. As we learn to get through sleep deprivation, double nappy changing, bottle making and burping babies. We have learned to alternate babies between ourselves, each feed so we all get cuddles. We have combated the tricky art of car seats and can now assemble double buggies in a flash.  We have mastered the skills for our collection of three double buggies, four car seats, two bouncy chairs, two changing mats and two baby baths. The rest has yet to come…..bring it on, more days of fun, love and laughter ---these little bundles are certainly growing fast!
