Is it me or does it feel like years since it was Christmas?... I really am going to start a viral web petition about demanding 4 day weeks from all UK employers... There is just not enough time to keep all the plates spinning... I mean, being a mother of 2 children under 5 there is certainly a feeling that somebody pressed the fast forward button and forgot to tell me.

I find myself just about managing to keep up with the continuous ebb and flow of kids, work, cleaning, kids, work, cleaning... repeat ad nauseum.. But I'm not really complaining because work is good right now - The Book Channel have just signed a deal with Borders Book store which is great for me - more work and lots of exciting authors to meet - I'm scheduled to  interview Delia Smith in a couple of weeks and I'm beginnning to think about what to ask her.. My grandad who is a football oracle has already given me a list as long as your arm of questions to do with Norwich City... Thing is I am yet to find out whether the book is about football or cooking... I guess the interview will certainly encompass all the things close to Mrs Smith's heart....

My 3 year old is having a birthday next week and is currently obsessed with the giant purple dinosaur Barney. I'm scouring the internet for ideas on how on earth I'm going to make a Barney cake... So far so good, I've sourced the purple food colouring and a chocolate sponge recipe guranteed to come out soft but good at holding it's shape... Now all I have to do is summon all my creative genius (and trust me there's not much of that sloshing around in my ol' brain these days) to come up with something half edible and half recognisible... Because my discerning almost 4 year old and her merciless henchkids will be the first to say " That looks nothing like Barney, do it again please..." AAAArrrrggggggghhh!
